About the German Aerospace Centre

The German Aerospace Center (DLR)is the national aeronautics and space research centre of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its extensive research and development work in aeronautics, space, energy, transport and security is integrated into national and international cooperative ventures. DLR has approximately 8000 employees at 16 different locations in Germany. The DLR Institutes for Air Transportation Systems as well as for Airport Research and Air Traffic are involved in the PASSME project. The main research areas of these research institutes are business models, requirements, infrastructure, processes, modelling and simulation of airlines and airports.

Role in the project

DLR leads Work Package (WP) 6 Integration and Demonstration because of its broad expertise in airport research and experience in many national and European research projects including the installation of test equipment at airports and in internal laboratories. DLR has also done extensive research on different airport terminal processes and therefore will participate in most of the other WPs.
